Directions:
From
Richmond: Take I-64 East to the West Point/Route 33 East Exit. Warning:
there are 2 drawbridges and a railroad crossing in West Point where you may get
stopped, and there is a speed trap just east of West Point where the speed
limit is strictly enforced.
Follow Route 33 through West Point,
turning left at the stoplight in Glenns, and then turning right to enter
Saluda. Turn right at the stoplight in Saluda (admiring the historic
courthouse) and, continuing on Rt. 33, go past the road to Urbanna, and
continue to the intersection where Route 3 West turns left and the signs point
to White Stone, Kilmarnock and Irvington (there is a brick church on the right
side of the road). Go across the Rappahannock River (3 miles wide) and into
White Stone.
You'll see the White Stone Jim & Pat Carter office
opposite the stoplight, but you need to turn left onto Route 200 at this light
to get to our office in Irvington. Follow Route 200 for 1.5 miles into
Irvington. The Jim & Pat Carter building is on the left and there is a Post Office
and a Shell gas station on the right.
From Norfolk: Interstate 64
West to US 17 North to Route 33 East (in Saluda) to Route 3 West into White Stone. You'll
see the White Stone Jim & Pat Carter office opposite the stoplight, but
turn left onto Route 200 to visit our office in Irvington. Follow Route 200 for 1.5 miles into
Irvington. The Jim & Pat Carter building is on the left and there is a Post Office
and a Shell gas station on the right. See Williamsburg
directions for an alternate route.
From Williamsburg:Take I-64
East to Route 105 to US 17 North (or take the Colonial Parkway to US 17) to
Route 33 East (in Saluda) to Route 3 North into White Stone. In White Stone,
turn left at the stoplight onto Route 200 to visit our office in Irvington. (You will see our White Stone office on the opposite corner.) Follow Route 200 for 1.5 miles into
Irvington. The Jim & Pat Carter building is on the left and there is a Post Office
and a Shell gas station on the right.
An
alternate route from Williamsburg (with less traffic): is to take 64 West
towards Richmond and turn off at Route 33 to West Point. Warning: there are 2

strictly enforced. Continue on Route 33 to Saluda, turn right in Saluda and
continue on 33 until you get to the left turn onto Route 3 West which takes you
across the Rappahannock River Bridge (3 miles wide) and into
White Stone.

to get to our office in Irvington. Follow Route 200 for 1.5 miles into

From
Washington, DC to Irvington, VA:There are two main roads into the area;
Rt. 3 runs down the north side of the Rappahannock River and is a 2-lane road
most of the way. Rt. 17 runs down the south side of the Rappahannock and is a
4-lane divided highway most of the way.
I. VIA MD/VA ROUTE, Rt.
3
Take #395 North (an extension of the 14th St. Bridge) to #295
past the Navy Yard exit; follow signs to #295 South - take the bridge across
the Anacostia River, #295 or Anacostia Freeway.
Continue South on #295
(under #95). Follow signs for #210 - Indian Head Highway. Go down #210 and turn
left onto #225 (about 20 minutes), there is a brick school on the right.
Follow #225 to #301 (10-15 minutes) and turn right on #301 South - go
across the Potomac River and down #301 for 12 miles to #3; turn left onto #3.
Follow Route # 3 (for 1 to 1 1/2 hours) through the towns of Montross,
Warsaw, Farnham, Lively, and Lancaster to Kilmarnock. Go into Kilmarnock and
turn right at the fourth traffic light onto Route 200.
Follow Route
200 for 5 miles to the Town of Irvington. There is a Shell gas station on
the left and Jim & Pat Carter is on the right side of the road.
II. VIA VA ONLY, Rt. 17
Drive South on #395 - it runs into
#95; continue South past Quantico and Fredericksburg to Exit #126 - signs say
Massaponax, Rt. #1, Rt. #17. Take this Exit.
Go right at stoplight
onto #1 - past fast food, etc.
Turn left on #17 (quickly) and follow
#17 through Tappahannock and about 20-25 miles further, watch the signs.
Turn left onto Route 33 East for the Business District in Saluda and go straight
on #33 East. Go past the Urbanna sign and turn Left onto Route 3 West, (about 7 miles)
where the signs point to White Stone, Kilmarnock, Rappahannock River Bridge.
Go over the Rappahannock River on Norris Bridge and continue straight
to the light at White Stone on Route 3. (You'll see the White Stone Jim & Pat
Carter office opposite the stoplight.)
Turn left onto Route #200 and
follow this for 1 1/2 miles into Irvington. Jim & Pat Carter is on the left
and there is the Post Office and a Shell gas station on the right.
From
New York / New Jersey (via Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia): Take
the Jersey Turnpike to the end, then take Route #95 South through Delaware and
Maryland. Approaching D.C. stay on the left and follow Route #95 / #495 South
(east). Cross the Potomac River into Virginia on Routes #95 / #495.
Continue South on #95; passing Quantico and Fredericksburg to Exit 126 - the
signs say Massaponax, Route 1, Route 17 - take this exit.
Go right
at the stop light onto Route 1 - past fast food, etc.
Turn left onto Route 17
(comes up quickly) and follow Route 17 through Tappahannock and about 20-25 miles
further, watch the signs.
Turn left onto Route 33 East for Irvington,
Kilmarnock, and White Stone, through the Business District in Saluda; go
straight on #33 East. Go past the Urbanna sign and turn left onto Route 3 West, (about 7
miles) where the signs point to Kilmarnock, etc. (there is a brick church on
the right).
Go over the Rappahannock River on Norris Bridge and
conitnue straight to the light at White Stone on Route 3.
Turn left onto
Route 200 and follow this for 1.5 miles into Irvington. Jim & Pat Carter
is on the left and there is a Post Office and a Shell gas station on the right.
From
New York / New Jersey (via Maryland & Virginia on Rt. 301 avoiding
Washington, D.C.): Take the Jersey Turnpike to the end.
Follow Rt.
95 South, approaching Baltimore - stay left and follow the signs for Rt. 895,
Baltimore Harbor Tunnel (not Rt. 95, Fort McHenry Tunnel.)
Go
through the tunnel and take Exit #6 for Route 97 to Route 3 and to Route 301.
NOTE: Rt. 97 South runs into Rt. 3 (not Rt. 3 Business District) which
extends into Rt. 301 around Bowie, Maryland.
Follow Route 301 South
(through Waldorf, St. Charles, La Plata) and over the Potomac River on Gov.
Nice Bridge.
Proceed 22 miles and turn left onto Route 17.
Turn left on Rt. 17 (comes up quickly) and follow Rt. 17 through Tappahannock
and about 20-25 miles further, watching the signs.
Turn left onto Rt. 33 East
for Irvington, Kilmarnock, and White Stone, through the Business District in
Saluda; go straight on Rt. 33 East. Go past the Urbanna sign until you turn
left onto Route 3 West (about 7 miles) where the signs point to Kilmarnock, et.
(there is a brick church on the right).
Go over the Rappahannock River
on Norris Bridge and continue straight to the light at White Stone on Rt. 3
(where you'll see our White Stone office on the corner).
Turn left onto
Route 200 and follow this for 1.5 miles into Irvington. Jim & Pat Carter
Real Estate is on the left and there is a Shell gas station on the
right.
